Here's what I don't get.  Everyone [it sure seems] is upset over Bush's choice of Gen, Michael Hayden to run the CIA, mostly over ''concern'' that a military man would be running a civilian agency?   Here's what we ought be concerned about.  The CIA is a paramilitary organization.  The agency has its own missle firing drone, for instance, and a lot more.  Where's the concern over the FACT that several holdover CIA personnel,. who disagree with the administrations policy, have been running covert operationss to undermine us?  Hmmm. Make me head of the CIA and I'll clean the place out in a week, the old fashioned way, and you'll never hear about it again.  I'll start here.  Anybody who joined the agency between 1993-2001 will be ''excused.'' I'm not kidding.

You've really got to wonder WTH is going on. They seem to be more concerned with harming Bush than actually protecting our country. It just can not be as bad as what has been made public.

Actually, from what I can tell (and I have a source who has been an overt employee of the Agency since 1986. Well, she wasn't always overt, but once your paper with your name on it about Turkey is GIVEN to the ambassador from Turkey by a congressman, it's kind of hard to remain 'covert'), it isn't so much that Hayden is a military man as he is a Negroponte disciple, and Negroponte is... well, I'm not sure if you have any expletive filters, but the quality of his intelligence leadership abilities rhymes with 'ship' and 'hit.'

The last person who was a military man to lead the Agency was Admiral Stansfield Turner, who RUINED the Agency so badly it still hasn't recovered, and whose legacy is possibly a major reason it was so easy for Clintonistas like Duetch to come in and fill the Agency with pro-Democrat anti-Republican stooges while getting rid of most of the pro-the-fucking-job-and-not-this-political-bullshit upper-echelon managers.

However, I have it on good authority that if certain military men were nominated -- such as General 'Don't Get Stuck on Stupid' Honore -- the remaining 'pro-the-fucking-job' employees would certainly support him.
