N.Y. Times Mourns Ultraliberal Economist John Kenneth Galbraith John Jay Chapman could well have been talking about Galbraith when he penned: "Give a professor a false thesis in early life, and he will teach it till he dies. He has no way of correcting it" Aside.  As a young econ minor at the University of Maryland, I was immersed in the theories of Malthus, Galbraith, and John Maynard Keynes .  Fucked me up for years.
