Offshore Follishness

Oily Bastards
Do you know what a hassle it is to find roll call votes, broken down by party affiliation?  I've tried this before and gave up.  This time I was determined to find out which hypocritical  bastards voted last week against allowing us to drill off our own shores - we're talking 200 miles offshore folks - for oil.  Nearly every democrat voted no, which is to be expected.  If it's good for America .... . you know.  But 94 Republican MoFos said no too, including my own RINO Wayne Gilchrist.

As we learned last month, China, Canada, and Venezuela are already drilling these waters at the invitation of Cuba.  But we can't.?  I had nothing but contempt for most of these people when I woke up, and now I have more of it.  As the WSJ points out this morning,
''Katrina was the most destructive hurricane in decades, yet it caused not a spill of oil in coastal waters. As for natural gas, it doesn't spill; it's a gas. Yet a separate measure in the Interior Department appropriations bill to allow drilling only for gas was stripped out by a vote of 217 to 203, with 59 Republicans voting to maintain the ban''.-- - "Your Congress at Work"
If your Rep is named below, I suggest working for the Republican primary challenger seeking that nomination. Sheesh.

It looks like you've underlined the commies...

It is amazing isn't it?

Look at China how they are covering their material and energy needs and than you look at the politicians in our country that have their heads in the sand and their dicks in the hands of the enviros. The hypocrisy is beyond belief.

Your comment - to support the challenger in the primary - is an idea we've been kicking around at work for a little bit. But we have no way to get the idea out. E-mails to some of the bigger bloggers hasn't resulted in a response.

Basically, the idea is to support the challenger - not the incumbant. It preserves the political party majority while still sending a message that the present way of doing business is unacceptable.

Problem is 99.8% of Amuricans can't tell you who their rep is. They can tell you who was a contestant on some stupid TV show or who won which sports championship, etc.

Think I'll grab a beer and turn on the game... before I get depressed.

I like the effort you put forth on this one.
I've got no hope here in CA. The Dem's are set for life...grumble grumble. Our US Rep. is Wally Herger and seems okay to me. I always fill out his questionairs and mail back. I hope he cares what we think. And, I checked, his voting record is available on all subjects at vote-smart.org.

OK - 100%!

My useless rep (a New Jersey Dem) is, of course, on the list. His seat is so secure in my gerrymandered district that the Republicans are not even naming a challenger. His only interest seems to be how much free travel he can score and what is going on on any given day in Africa.
