The fundamental difference lies in the values that the participants uphold and attempt to pass on to the children. One side values the ability of individuals to choose their own destinies free of oppression and the other side does not.

The child is interested in the gun, not the killing of Americans and Jews.
Of course, if he was to mimic the killing of Islamo-terrorists, all the better for it, because it shows he recognises evil and enjoys fighting evil. -
