Man...Watching everything today...I can't understand how things are the way they are. How Bush doesn't have amazing poll ratings, how we're not completely behind this war...I dunno. For the last few years...I've thanked God every day that I was born here, that I grew up here...Jeeze, I still remember five years ago...Eleven years old, my mom calls from work and tells me to turn on the news, she heard there was a bombing. I kind of shrugged it off, told her I'd look and tell her...Looked, and yep, I told her.
I'm so saddened, but at the same time so lucky to have witnessed such a tragic and horrifying image. I'm so glad that I got to see it over, and over, and over again before they pulled it so that it didn't warp American's fragile little minds. I'm so lucky that I got to feel that...Hell, I didn't know what it was then, but it was anger. I'll carry that with me for the rest of my life, that fiery rage and hatred that comes with someone attacking my home.
It kills me to think that maybe without what happened, I wouldn't feel this way. It kills me more to think that even with it being a reality, many still DON'T feel that way. I hate that I'm part of a generation who doesn't know enough or just doesn't care enough to believe in what we're fighting for. A bunch of immature kids who run their mouths about a President they know nothing about, in a war they have no knowledge of. In fifty years, when my generation is running things, when bigger and worse things than terrorism come, this generation, who can't even stomach this fight...Will lose us out.
All the values instilled by the older generations are gone...Patriotism is for morons and standing up for yourself makes you a thug, unless you're the enemy. I'm done ramblin', I just bummed myself out :D. I have nobody to talk to about my lack of faith in the youngest of humanity, so I have to spam it here, on a day that they should all be caring about, but will probably treat like every other.
Spelling and grammar on this is probably horrible, I haven't been to bed since my rant on the 9/11 movie :-p. - 9/11/06, 11:52 AM

I think every generation wonders about the next. When the action started in Afganistan I wondered if the kids from the computer age would have the ability to hack it as they say. but i soon found out that these young guy's made an old Vietnam vet like me look like a wuss. I am so proud of these young troops I dont know how to express it enough.
They have the right stuff to get the job done and done right. If we could only get the lousy democrats out of the way. - 9/12/06, 7:32 AM
