Before I comment let me say my wife was diagnosed with Parkinson's last April so some of what I say is based on my own research and comments from her neurologist.
Did you notice how Fox was bouncing around in this video? Did you see him on Boston Legal recently? Quite a difference. He was extremely calm. I wonder why the difference? Oh, yeah. A calm demeanor in a Parkinson's patient begging for stem cell research probably doesn't get the desired reaction like a Parkinson's patient bobbing, weaving and jerking might. According to my wife's neuro, if you overdose a Parkinson's patient, it will usually exacerbate the tremors, etc. So, for normal activities like acting on Boston Legal, Fox takes the proper meds. For his appearances before Congress, making this little video, etc he overdoses. Or maybe underdoses. Whatever it takes to get the desired image out there. - 10/23/06, 10:21 AM

I am sorry to hear about your wife's travail, but am happy that so many advances have been made re Parkinson's since an erstwhile boss of mine was totally incapacitated by it within three years of diagnosis. Your observations about Fox's manipulation are priceless.

Having worked in nursing homes for several years, I've never seen a Parkinson's patient moving like that. Tremors, yes; bobbing and weaving, no. He looks like someone with the *far* worse genetic disease Huntington's chorea.

I believe Dr. Myron identified that worse condition: over acting.
