Guess what? Nobody gives a
rat's ass - or shouldn't - about what congressional democrats think
about how a war is conducted. While the House can choke off any
defense action by defunding it - as they did in Vietnam, and for years
with the missile defense system - they have ZERO say in its
conduct. Which is a good thing, since democrats are famously
inadequate in all matters pertaining to a war, or an economy.
Here's Murtha on Hard Ball yesterday.
MATTHEWS: OK,
let’s go. What’s the difference here, for the average person
watching right now. Whether you win, as you say you will, or
Steny Hoyer wins for the race for majority leader in the House?
MURTHA: Well
the difference is the policy question about the war. When I spoke
out two weeks later, he said “It would be chaos if we left. If we
reduced our presence in Iraq, it would be chaotic.” And he went
on to criticize that policy, never signed onto my resolution. So
there was a vast difference between what he did and what I said.
I appeared 143 times on these national shows talking about Iraq, about
the lack of progress and the need to redeploy our troops.

Matthews went on to ask him about
his ''ethics problem,'' specifically his role in ABSCAM. Murtha
stuck with the same lie - that he only wanted investment in
his district - despite the recent full release of the FBI's tape that
shows Murtha ready to play ball. He was scheduled to pick up his
$50,000 ''walking around money'' when news of the sting was broken by
