The Times does Bolton

Cognitive dissonance
The New New York Times, 229 Tim McVeigh Suare, NY, NY.
Nothing displays the incompatibility betwixt my, and I dare say millions of other's, cognition, and  those fellows who would mourn the renaming of  The New York  Times address to 229 Timothy McVeigh Square, than yesterday's Times editorial celebrating John Bolton's UN demise.  Two snips will do it.

Attempts to get the lame duck Senate to confirm Mr. Bolton ran aground when Lincoln Chafee, the Republican senator from Rhode Island, refused to support the nomination in the Foreign Relations Committee, leaving Mr. Bolton’s fate hung up on a tie vote. Mr. Chafee is the prime example of a moderate Republican who was popular with his constituents but who lost his seat because of Mr. Bush’s hard-edge partisanship and insistence on having his own way in Iraq
<snip>
The United Nations doesn’t need any further proof of how little the Bush administration thinks of it. And the Bush administration doesn’t need to insult the world at a time when it is becoming increasingly clear how much help the United States needs to stabilize Afghanistan, extricate itself from Iraq, and curb the nuclear appetites of North Korea and Iran. Mr. Bolton’s withdrawal gives the president a chance to improve his relationship with both the U.N. and Congress. - Mr. Bolton Resigns

So there you have it.  Yup, we are in the ''phony war" period of an American Civil War. I'll be with the USA.

Just trying to think,what has the U.N.,a boil on the U.S. ass, ever accomplished,except pad their wallets at our expense.Bolton was our best man to be there.Any Dempick is a Limpdick.

The UN is a Dictator's Country Club and will never be anything more than a funding source for corrupt and ruthless bureaucrats and dictators' relatives.

Bolton was wasting his time trying to reform those crooks and now he can do something meaningful with his life.

Yes. Agreed. The U.N. is unreformable altogether.Just thought it was preferable to have someone there,representing our interests and kicking some asses than having someone there KISSING some.

i do not need to get started on the this subject I might say something I regret. Well fuck it I wish it had been the New York Slimes that the bombers had hit on 9/11 and Pinch had been standing looking out the very window as the jumbo jet struck it while Moreen Dowd was blowing him.Then two scumbags would have been eliminated in a flash of flame and puff of smoke.

I'm with you. I won't stand for any attacks from the outside on any square inch of USA soil, but if it had to happen it's a damned shame they didn't take out the New York Times. Ironically, had they done that, so few people would have felt genuine anger that Bush would have had a hard time retaliating in the first place.

Roger you know you have a very valid point there.

I was dreaming earlier about a Tom Tancredo/John Bolton team in 2008. Now my thoughts have turned to getting the New York Times added to this list: http://tinyurl.com/y5fy9p
