McCain's Leak

McNasty
The consensus of opinion holds that John McCain leaked the 140 page Giuliani brief after an aide left it in a Florida hotel room.

"It was just surgical," says one senior campaign staffer for another GOP presidential hopeful, of the leak. "They [McCain campaign loyalists] are being systematic about taking down the opposition, even if it means tearing the party apart."

<snip>

The McCain campaign has ruffled some Republican feathers as he has criticized the party and conservatives as he seeks to broaden his support beyond the GOP base. Giuliani, who rates as highly as McCain on such issues as national security and homeland defense, but is more moderate on some social issues, is viewed as the major threat to McCain in the center/moderate Republican arena. - "Rough on Rudy"

I cannot believe that there is wide conservative support for McCain, the man responsible for the single most comprehensive undermining of our First Amendment rights in all of history.  I find him as morally repugnant as any Democrat.  Plus, I gave him $10 to get me a tuna sammich once, and he kept the change.

Have you noticed the skin on his face and neck are totally RHINO flesh????

I can say with all truthfulness, that man is as UGLY on the outside as he is on the inside. Shivers me timbers just to think of it.
Yes, that campaign finance *reform* was bull****, but W didn't have to sign it.

Who's the third school girl??

I despise McCain but would pull the lever rather than see HRC elected.

It's called pragmatism. We have a super lib as Speaker because a lot of people on our side chose to sit on their hands. Happy now?

Roger I do not believe there is wide conservative support for McCain no more than there is for Rudy. Neither man is presidential timber as they say. I believe that if Mccain gets the nomination it is going to be pretty much the same as Rudy getting it. The results would be the same.Either one will set the republican party back for probably 8 years.McCain hurt himself again badly when he alligned himself with the lib democrats regarding judicial nominations. It sucks but either man pretty much ensures Hillary the Whitehouse. Both will sell this country down the river to Mexico.

I will also say I am glad I was able to vote in the last election both the people I supported were elected. But I understand the reason and dejection of some of those that did not and felt they had no choice.

So Jack, would you pull the lever for McCain? Or do the classic cutting off your nose and see HRC elected?

Your(and my) principles would go right into the round file with a HRC as president. The steam HRC and the coalitions that will accompany her would set this country back 60 years. We would never undo them in our lifetime.

To be honest with you I just do not know. I would find it very hard to pull that lever for McCain. I am troubled by the why he treated the families of MIA's from Vietnam His willingness to get in bed with the North Vietnamese He stabbed his colleagues in the back during the Court appointments and hooked up wit the democrats. He is for open borders and amnesty which I have explained to you in past post is just a dangerous to this country as the war on terror. I happen to know a former prisoner of war and he is not real well thought of by many of them but they will not really come out and say why. I also believe he has mental problems as well. I do not know if my stomach is that strong that I could vote for him. But I really do not believe he will get the nomination anyway. Good luck to your Buckeyes tonight.

one thing I would add If Rudy were elected Your and my principals would go right into the round file just as much as if Hillary got the nod.

Jack, The point I made before still stands(and it WAS NOT a personal attack) The most important issue is the GWOT. If we get a HRC as president, we will lose it. And than both of what we value will be lost.

McCain turns my stomach too. Rudy, I like and wouldn't have to hold my nose to vote for him even with his civil union views, numerous marriages, and past gun grabbing actions. If he got in, I believe you'd be pleasantly surprised. He certainly is one tough MoFo. To me, that is all that matters now. We don't have the luxury we had in the 90s when Bill just coasted.

Lucky for conservatives, Romney is looking good. I heard Brownback on Hugh Hewitt the other day and he totally waffled on the GWOT. He's toast.

I can only say that you are very wrong when you seem to think that the GWOT is the only thing that matters. The current situation with the silent invasion of thiis country is every bit as dangerous and might be more so than the other because of the way it is supported by many liberals. However some dems are starting to see the light about that and using it as an issue but they cannot be trusted. If Hillary is elected she will not be allowed to let the country be taken over by the Madhi or the terrorist. Would be maybe more vulnerable to another attack might be I do not know. I do Know she is unfit to hold the office but we would survive it. I do not believe it will come to that unless either Rudy or Possibly McCain is the standard bearer. Rudy as the nominee would assure a Hillary victory I do not know how to make it any simplier than that. The conservative base is not going to be enthusastic about a Rudy canidacy. What the heck is the use of being a conservative if you are given a nominee that supports and stands for everything you have stood against your whole life. The answer is nothing you might as well vote for Hillary. If that is the situation it means that there will be millions in the republican base thaqt will stay home. That is just the facts nothing I do can change it or that you do will change it. The conservatives are not going to turn out for Rudy. Sorry i thought you were a Buckeye fan.

Even my lib neighbors think McCain is not to be trusted. Huge ugly mistake if he's the Republican nominee, because whether he's elected or he loses the general election, we lose big time.
