The Amos 'n Andy television
show from the 50's was funny, and it introduced white America to Negro Americans they were otherwise segregated from. Amid the humor we saw
them as people with the same foibles, concerns, and problems as we
(Andy was an intelligent foil to Kingfish and Amos' foolish scheming).
Today Black Americans are (evidently) loathe to allow reruns to air. At
the same time, inexplicably, they don't seem to mind being represented
by this real life
Kingfish.
Al Sharpton is an undereducated, grandstanding con artist, with little
or no understanding or regard for history, and who fractures the
English language in comic fashion. It's his show that ought be illegal.
