Kingfish Sharpton

Holy Mackel Andy ...

Kingfish Sharpton
The Amos 'n Andy television show from the 50's was funny, and it introduced white America to Negro Americans they were otherwise segregated from. Amid the humor we saw them as people with the same foibles, concerns, and problems as we (Andy was an intelligent foil to Kingfish and Amos' foolish scheming). Today Black Americans are (evidently) loathe to allow reruns to air. At the same time, inexplicably, they don't seem to mind being represented by this real life Kingfish. Al Sharpton is an undereducated, grandstanding con artist, with little or no understanding or regard for history, and who fractures the English language in comic fashion. It's his show that ought be illegal.

One of my favorite Kingfish lines that seems particularly appropriate for Shrpton: "Is you issuin' me an ultimatoe!"

Small error, the cartoonist forgot to draw the rotten odor coming from Sharpton's feet.

I have copies of every known existing Amos and Andy radio show (219). Every show the dishonest black gets nailed, and the honest one comes out ahead.

That theme would always clash with Sharpton's values.

Damn Jake, wtf you be?

One of the most memorable was a sweet Christmas story involving
Amos and his family (I think I erred when I said Andy was the smart one.) Do your videos have the Blatz beer commercials?
