C-130

C-130 in Afghanistan Inter-action

">
In my day we dropped boiling oil on the bad guys, so I may have mistaken dirt kicked up by the chain gun for 40mm stuff. Great C-130 action at any rate, and the game still works.

Rodger, that's my favorite plane.Just the videos I have seen of AC killing bad guys at night
thrills me to no end.The 105 in the back is an attention getter.

Must be a scary feeling being on the receiving end, fire and brimstone following you everywhere, in pitch blackness, like it was tied to you with a string. Heh.
Couldn't decide whether "boom" or "bang" was more effective. Wish they would have leveled everything in sight, including the dadgummed armory... uhhh... mosque.

Great Action, should have taken the Mosque too. What ever happened to B52 strikes ala carpet. Too insensitive perhaps.

This is the greatest country evah, that we can spend $100k blowing a dozen or so Islamotardos up. "Heaven" must have one hell of a lot of virgins, in the Alalalalalah scheme of things.

Brubeck was a nice touch, gave a certain sootheeness.

I found myself yelling "Engage the mosque FIRST!!, and "Can't those planes carry daisycutters?

Agree JP. Great accompaniment for the mighty AC130. Bought Brubeck's Time Out about 50 years ago on platter and Take Five was my favorite selection.Got it on CD now.

Quibble:

I was fairly certain that the AC-130 carried 20MM Vulcans rather than the 25MM models. Also, rotary gun like the Minigun/Vulcan/Avenger are NOT "chain guns." They use an electric motor to drive them..

Dittos on the soundtrack! Only one correction, Rodger. Vanessa Dobos was aerial gunner on choppers (HH-60).
Our daughter operates the big guns on the AC130-U: 105 howitzer, 40mm mini gun, 25 cal gatling gun. She's in Irag now.
BTW, gunships motto, "The real reason to fear the night."
Nice to see that video with all your personal touches...as usual.
Sweeet. :)

Nope, it's a 25mm and a 40mm, although the AF is in the process of replacing both with 30mm. Apparently spare parts for the 25 are like hen's teeth.
