What horrifies us, and why

Today's Queasy

I WARN YOU THIS IS EXTREMELY GRAPHIC. WORSE THAN DOG FIGHTING.
I was unable to watch the entire thing myself, so don't feel bad if you can't either.  In fact, I doubt there are too many of us who can without getting misty-eyed.  Inspector Hamilton sent me this piece by Coach Dave Daubenmire [ WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?] that makes some very good points.  I've chopped this up pretty good, so please read the entire article for its full effect.

I wonder how many words the Michael Vick dog-fighting episode has elicited. Inflation has obviously taken hold in the media. The pictures of the dog-fights continually being played throughout the media has easily generated millions of words.

But as usual, I always ask myself, who is behind this story? Would it be safe to say that it was someone who loves dogs? Is it possible that the person at the network responsible for running the video over and over knows the impact that pictures have on our emotions?

At our local government school (Isn't that a terrific description?) they always take time during prom season to show the students graphic pictures of auto accidents, designed to discourage the students from drinking and driving.

I say, “Where’s the beef?’’

Has Hillary ever seen an abortion? Has Obama? Has America’s Mayor Rudy Guiliani seen the horror of this procedure? Have you?

The pro-aborts cry that they want to make abortion rare and safe! Do they apply the same standards to dog-fighting: let’s make them rare and safe? Is the killing of a dog more heinous than the dismemberment of a child?

The only difference between what Michael Vick did and what abortionist do 3,500 times a day in America is that the doctor has a license, government approval, and your tax dollars to do his killing. Michael Vick doesn’t need to go to jail. He needs to go to medical school.

The full video with a Red-White & Blue sound track may be viewed here.  I elected to replace the track with Art Linkletter interviewing some 5-6 year olds.

Dean Barnett has a post showing Mitt Romney in action, where he was trying to talk about his stance(s) on abortion.

The interviewer does try to jack this into a discussion of the Mormon Church, but Romney more than holds his own.

I guess my point remains this: There are a variety of good folks trying to become the Republican Candidate for President, and they are all against the abortion known as "pro-choice".

That was gross... But I still think it should be the choice of the woman. Not the government.

That being said... Please don't show any videos about vasectomies... I plan on getting one soon, and don't need to see how it's done. lol

the party of hate has a whole new *face* on it for me,today. didn't get past 3:12, but saw enough to sicken myself. gotta say, how does this barbarism separate us from the islamo beheaders, eh? Never. Believed in abortions. Never will.

Jack,

This issue is not binary, it is much more complex than that. Twice in my life I've recommended abortion, and I regret neither decision.

So, are we waiting for a drum roll here?

You could make the same argument about the pictures of bodies from 9/11.

As a matter of fact, unless you look very hard for such pictures-- aside from a few carefully selected bodies in the process of falling from the towers--you could think that 9/11 was a bloodless event if you didn't know there were thousands of deaths. And even if you know that, they are still somewhat abstract. But Abu Graib, people with underwear on their heads: oh, the humanity!

Dogs Maul Caretaker to Death at Ving Rhames' Home

Now that guy's (a black actor) vicious dogs (mastiffs) killed a caretaker. Let's see if the poor caretaker will get as much mileage as the poor "fighting" dogs.

He has "not been identified", a convenient way to abstract and dehumanize him: probably a dirty white man or even worse some Mexican. Who cares then? Hey, didcha know that the oppressed Blacks had caretakers? And they even can afford expensive exotic killing dogs to munch on the latter. Waiting for Al Sharpton to intervene...

I believe abortion is required if the mothers life is at risk. However even the natiobnal Genalogical association and the med associations will tell you that is a very rare happenstance.

No there can be no excuse for what this nation has done to unborn babies it is every bit as evil as the Nazis holacaust and we pay a price for it every day. Those that support this kind of bloody carnage will never understand unless something changes there heart. It is simply monsterous. It makes as much sense to say it is the womans decision if she wants to off her elderly parent. I understand that in rare cases it is necessary but the millions of babies that have been destroyed dwarfs the nazis holacaust. Also medicalscience is proving to be the undoing of the abortion billion dollar lobby. People are seeing now that these really are babies not just some blob of tissue and they are even performing surgery on some babies while still in the womb. As a result more people are turning from this monsterous practice simply because the baby is inconvenient.

I couldn't make it 30 seconds.
Despicable beyond belief! How can someone rip a baby apart and sleep at night?

I support those who would assassinate abortionists and would never convict such a person, if on a jury. Prison for the "mothers", too.

There, I've said it.

Luke 17:2
It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

What's the penalty for the murderous abortionist and mother who paid him? Who are judged one day....

Sorry, but this most sickening display has rooted itself into my gut.

As horrible as this is to watch, it should be circulated far and wide so that a passive and uncaring public can better understand what this monstrous procedure actually is.

Rodger, do you have a direct link to download that video? (either original, or your version).

I gave the direct link in the last line of my work-up. ("may be viewed here."
