Cop Joke

What do retired people do all day?

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went down  town and into a shop. I was only there for about 5 minutes and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

I said to him, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a  break?" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a "Nazi." He glared at me and wrote another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "doughnut eating Gestapo."

He  finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the  first. Then he wrote a third ticket. This went on for about 20  minutes. The more I abused him the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car  that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said  "Hillary in '08."

I did that more before didn't I? I'll try and remember, *knocks on wood* but it would help a lot if people also included their handles. Whoops, someone at the door.

I've wanted to discuss this point and hope this non specific (although humorous) post is a good place to float it. Con permesso, Direttore..
BUT-.
Regarding Larry Craig (R), I don't believe he should step down. If he leaves office, doesn't it hand Dem's one less counter vote? I don't know Craig's voting history, but if he votes against Dem/Liberals, why not keep him voting until his constituents choose to re-elect or fire? Why are Republicans so eager to throw away their own elected? WTF?

Craig's major crime is stupidity, IMO. Plus, he evidently has had a "Men's room problem" for years, which - despite the US Senate's current composition of mainly brigands, traitors, and assholes - is hardly the ideal we're looking for.

Thirdly, and this is the brass ring, Idaho has a Republican Gov. who would appoint a Republican to finish Craig's term. Democrats are unelectable in this, our smartest state.

So that answers then. Thanks much.

MORRISVILLE - When Morrisville police officer Chris Gill handed him a ticket, Kent Kauffman coughed. Next thing Kauffman knew, Gill was charging him with assault on a government official. (tinyurl.com/26c652)
