This Variety lede into a review of Redford's movie (below)is every bit as mind-numbingly idiotic as my own, eh wot?
“ | Talky, back-bendingly liberal but also deeply patriotic
| ” |
Redford's tightly stretched face has only been seen recently in its role as Neil Peart's Don't get your stick caught in an acne scar Neil snare drum skin. Winner of the Leni Rosenthal Life Achievement Award for Socialist Agitprop, Redford swings back into film action with “Lions for Lambs” here's the IMDB plot outline:
“ | Injuries sustained by two Army rangers behind enemy
lines in Afghanistan set off a sequence of events involving a Senator
(Cruise), a journalist (Streep) and a professor (Redford).
Simultaneously:
1) a Senator on Capital Hill debates a current crisis
in Afghanistan, with the Reporter who made his career …
2) a Professor
teaching Political Science tries his best to convince a good student
not to give up his studies, using two former students who passionately
enlisted in the Army as an example …
3) both of which (coincidentally)
are currently under fire in Afghanistan — the very same crisis the
Senator and Reporter are debating over.

Look deeply and you should find a Michael Moore screen writing
credit. Anti American films have a self limiting audience
trigger, of course, but throw in Tom Cruise, who has achieved cultural
clown status, and I predict this film will bomb, bomb, bomb; then win
12 Oscars and a Nobel Peace Prize..
