Let's wait and see, but ...

Betting Line
While her story of gang rape and kidnapping may prove out - in my experience about 30% of high profile rape charges are verified - at first blush this stinks.  Smells like another KOS/The Nation/New Republic/ratbastard media fabrication, of which there have been several.    Comments show I'm not alone.

The book is written, just looking for a publisher,

The alleged attack took place 2 1/2 years ago,

Without her rape story, she was too doggy to get to Playboy, so she just had to find a way; now she'll probably be in the June '08 issue, giving time for her implants to heal.
I know I sound nasty, but I find the whole story unbelievable. WTF was a 20 year old civilian doing in Baghdad? What background qualified her for work in such a place? And why would a huge company try to hide a rape without buying her silence?

After the Duke disgrace, people have a right to be skeptical of this young woman's story, especially 2-1/2 years after the fact. Let's wait to see what unfolds. If a crime occurred, punishment should be severe. But I agree with others, we're not getting the whole story here. DD

Yes Lt. Col...I agree..What expertise did this (at that time),20 year old have that required her attendance in a war zone?..Did someone of influence aid and encourage her in getting this job?..Was she someone's 'squeeze' and did the arrangement go sour?..For my money, this whole deal smells like a week old,opened can of sardines.The timing appears to be just another left wing case of manipulation of the gullible hoi polloi. I'll need a hell of a lot more facts to become a believer and I really don't think that'll be forthcoming.....By the by, I am NOT a desciple of Halliburton/KBR.
