Barf-Alert Extrodinaire

A Mission for the Barn Army

LA TIMES editorial page writer

I was compelled, while reading this Los Angeles Times editorial [Voices of experience], to conjure up a vision of  what sort of  triple-decker toadstool sandwich would pen such utter crap?  To wit:

It is Hillary Rodham Clinton's misfortune to have spent a long and honorable career building up the experience that would qualify her to be a serious candidate for president of the United States -- only to come to the apex of that career just as the nation decided that experience isn't everything. She squeaked out a victory on Tuesday, but across the wintry plains of Iowa and the unseasonably mild hills of New Hampshire, large numbers of voters in the past five days have affirmed that they are looking forward, not back, and thus swarming to Barack Obama's thoughtful, eloquent expression of hope and away from Clinton's call of experience and readiness.

What?  Not pharisaical enough for you?  Fasten your seat belt.

For Clinton, the trouble is not emotion but, perversely, President Bush. So badly has this president performed that he has discredited not just his own administration but the very idea of Washington knowledge. Voters frustrated by the war in Iraq and anxious about the economy have turned on the man who brought us those troubles and on experience itself--and thus on Clinton.

Your Barn Army is up to the task of curing this cancer.  Sleep tight.

FYI I flew into the Seattle area last Sunday night. Looked sorta nice from the air. Be a shame when you nuke it until it glows. Oh well...

After being pointed to the website of Obama's church--Trinity Church of Christ-- and looking around there, I have decided that I have lived too long. A good sleep sounds right for me, and let you youngsters clean up this mess.

And try to drop north of the city. Boeing Field and its museum is too nice to eradicate.

But, do what you must.

(BTW-Olympia is about 50 miles to the south west.)

The editorialist writes like a teenager who has come of age during Bush's two terms, and hence has no real perspective from which to speak. (Except, of course, "Bush sucks! Worse. President. Ever!")

Certainly, he/she seems to have no memory of the Clintons' tawdry White House exit in 2000 (pardons, filching, vandalism by staff) and its possible effect on America's opinion of DC and its "experienced" insiders.

Oh well. You see this same kind of childish rant in New York Times editorials all the time: the impulses of an angry child redirected in adult rhetoric; whining immaturity masquerading as wisdom. DD

Hmmm. Experience. Hubby pardoned some Puerto Rican terrorists to get the hispanic vote in NY so she could be a senator. Only elected office she's ever held. Yup. Qualified alright.
