It's an amazing drug and for many is a Godsend. However, you should be aware of the potential side effects and whatever you do, don't suddenly stop taking and SSRI --- you must very gradually decrease the dosage or you risk Brain Zaps:
"...a sudden “jolt,” likened to an electric shock, apparently occurring or originating in the brain itself ... a flashbulb going off inside the head or brain ... as though someone had opened up the person’s skull and dragged a staticky blanket across his or her exposed brain."
