Poor suffering traitors - boo-hoo

*snif*
In Canada, Deserters Find an Uncertain Haven, And Aid From an Earlier Generation That Fled
Across Canada, the remnants of a lost counterculture are rising up again as hundreds of aging draft dodgers reluctantly leave the quiet comforts of their anonymous lives to help an estimated 200 Iraq war deserters who fled north with no promise of asylum.

There is Jeremy Hinzman, the first one to seek asylum here, in limbo for four years now. And Phil McDowell, the computer geek whose patriotism was put to the test in Baghdad. And Patrick Hart, the veteran worried about lost medical benefits for his sick son. All found their way to Zaslofsky and the quasi-underground network he runs for AWOL Americans crossing the border with little more than what they can fit in a duffel bag.
Reminder: We are just $600 shy of having the funds to invade Canada, and help them out.

Screw the "poor me" bastards. Let Canada have 'em. They will be alot of help in a national emergency. Like if they run out of hockey pucks. And what happened to the puzzle? It was just there.

I think these numbers are right: During Viet Nam, 40,000 draft-evading sumbitches ran off to Canada, while 50,000 Canadians served in our armed forces. A net gain, eh?

It was only a shortish lifetime ago, that lads went North to aid our cousins in fighting the Hun. I blame it on the socialists.

I read recently that Canada's court ruled that these rat-bastard coward libs are not welcome in Canada, and they may have to move their asses back to the states. Charges of desertion perhaps?

Rodger is that figure accurate? I can wire the money in the morning. I'd do it now but the wallowing in Guiness and prozac is in full force at the moment, if there's money left over it'll be for the BA, some of us need saving. Paul C

After 40 years I still hate those bastards and see no reason to think I should feel any different about the ones going up there now. Even if Canada says they can't stay nothing will be done to most of them when they come back here and it's a crock of shit! F--- 'em all.
