Girl saves Mother

Seven-Year-Old Takes Six Bullets to Protect Her Mother
Fearing for her mother's life, Alexis bolted into the car's front seat, crying out, "Don't hurt my mother."

"Alexis jumped over the seat to try and save my life," Parker said.

Using her tiny body as a shield, Alexis blocked six gunshots from hitting her mother. The bullets pierced her right eye, chin, cheek, chest and jaw. When police arrived to the scene, they found Alexis in a pool of blood, curled beneath the steering wheel.

Parker also had been shot in the side of the head and the arm. link

I'd like to say she is a brave kid, but in reality she was probably just young and naive. Its easy to be brave when you don't know how badly things hurt, or what can kill you.

But what kind of parent sits there and lets their kid jump over the seat and into the line of fire?

What kind of parent has a kid with a different last name and takes a paroled felon for a boyfriend?

I see gun control worked really well - Tillie, a former convict on parole could not legally have a gun.
Too bad Momma and her friend weren't each carrying a legal gun so they could have shot him to death.

Ah, Detroit, it's a wonderful town... the rectum of North America. At least the mayor is getting laid.

Spinning this as a feel-good "hero" story is troubling. But I guess that's what professional journalists are paid to do. DD

I wonder what was the caliber of the pistol . . . .

If she could take six from a .45 ACP she's quite a kid.

After wading through the cynicism, "Not that there's anything wrong with that," and I too wondered what ?caliber? and ?paroled?...BUT.

What a moment of selfless love this child showed. Therein lies the beauty of this story. Thanks Rodger for this small reminder of innocence and a precious heart.
