Foreign ObamaNation

I suggested you nuke the New York Times ten
years ago, but did you listen?  Oh, nooooooooo.

The New York Times has famously politicized even their Food section, so this is not entirely unexpected. Our pal Vilmar checked to see how the Times covered a new round of riots in Paris, where "oppressed minorities" burned cars and fought police over the weekend.  Here's the lead paragraph  from the ARTS page, fer crisake.
PARIS — When Youssoupha, a black rapper here, was asked the other day what was on his mind, a grin spread across his face. “Barack Obama,” he said. “Obama tells us everything is possible.

 **
An article in Le Monde a few days ago described how Mr. Obama is “stirring up high hopes” among blacks here. Even seeing the word “noir” (“black”) in a French newspaper was an occasion for surprise until recently.

Meanwhile, this past weekend, 60 cars were burned and some 50 young people scuffled with police and firemen, injuring several of them, in a poor minority suburb of Vitry-le-François, in the Marne region of northeast France.

Later in the story we are told that "While Mr. Obama talks about running a campaign transcending race, an increasing number of French blacks are pushing for, in effect, the reverse."

Blah-blah-freaking-blah. Is Michael Kimmelman terminally naive, and stupid, or just ever-so comfortable with the drive-by's new in-your-facepolitical advocacy?  The Obama campaign is steeped in racial division.  How else would a man with less experience than many Senate pages even get the nomination, let alone .... Wait!  Is Al Sharpton in France this week?

From what I have heard, Obama has more experience than a congressional page in certain other arenas.

Geez...That's WAY too many rhetorical questions in one paragraph for my brain to process...

From SondraK's......"Two Muslim women at Barack Obama’s rally in Detroit Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women’s headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.".....................Now listen up people..We DO NOT want any muslims girls in the background of these group shots..Understand now..Get them out of the picture..Move them a few feet away..you know ..about a STONE’S THROW.
