Saint Obama - again

'Charming Aristocracy' coddles Obama

Obama "heals" is right on message.  The Enquirer (Cincinnati) columnist Peter Bronson scores some nice jabs here.
*snip*
Obama was on dozens of magazine covers - often depicted in photos cleverly lit to suggest he has a halo. No kidding.

Scrupulously secular mediacrats who agonized over Mitt Romney's Mormon "problem" now use words like "redeemer" and "savior" to describe Obama - without even blushing.

They think they're helping him. Which only goes to show that disaster is a parking lot paved with good intentions by the "Charming Aristocracy."

I borrowed the label from Tom Wolfe. The author of "The Bonfire of the Vanities" and "A Man in Full" also coined "The Great Relearning" to describe hippies who tried to "sweep aside all codes and restraints of the past and start out from zero," only to find out that sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll is no better way to go through life than fat, drunk and stupid.

Newsweek magazine, the new cover.  The cover is of Obama, and they put another halo on his head! The original picture did not have a halo, but the wife of editor Jon Meacham walked in, saw it, didn't like it. So Newsweek changed the cover photo of Obama with a halo and a bright light behind him because the editor's wife didn't like the original.  (Rush)
The same page features a little poll designed to scare people.  So far, 39% of the respondents to this bit of silliness say yes!  Hurt me!  In the meanwhile, we have the first sign that  people may be fed up with the Sierra Club-Democrat  complex.  South Dakota voters approved building the nation's first new  oil refinery in 30 years.

Note that Pelosi and Reid have not yet declared for Obama. Note that Hillary did NOT concede. Note that Rezko is guilty on 16 out of 24 felony counts. Note the possible existence of a Michelle tape (see Rodg above, with caveats). Note that Ohio Governor Strickland has not endorsed. Nor has Pennsylania Governor Rendell, and other "mainstream" Dems (pardon me for that, please). Where's Edwards? Senators Biden, Dodd, Feinstein, and Boxer? Why was the biggest gun they could pull for endorsement yesterday Carter?

Why does her website currently have this: "I'm with you Hillary, and I'm proud of everything we are fighting for." That's present tense.

These are serious politicians, who granted we don't agree with but they do know how to play. They and the Clinton machine and the moneymen all know that not only cannot Obama win, he'll do real harm to their party.

She's down, but she's not out.

Correction to the above: Edwards did declare for Obama just after West Virginia. I don't consider him a serious politician however.

I read the article regarding the oil refinery construction, and I saw:

Opponents have filed a lawsuit challenging the rezoning process.

and

The permitting process for Hyperion has only begun. The first step is an air quality permit from the state. Plans call for construction to begin in the year 2010.

Am I merely being cynical when I propose that construction will actually begin at roughly the same time the sun turns into a chunk of coal? The watermelons will not let this thing be built.
