The real Carlin


 Over the years he made me laugh, but not so much in the last 20 years. And, once in a blue moon he had insight like you can hear on this clip Rush Limbaugh scared up last week, but for the most part the George Carlin I turned off  many, many times was this one.

The last funny thing he did was 'Toledo Windowbox'. He became so cynical that he wasnt fun to watch anymore.

I was quite interested in hearing his comedy after his trip to rehab last year. Thought, if IT took, that he'd have a more "enlightened" approach to the "spiritual".

Don't think he possessed the capacity for much humility, which of course is an essential component for "enlightenment."

Bet he and the Man Upstairs are having quite an interesting conversation about right now...

I wasn't aware of Carlin's attempt at rehab, and perhaps his last year's comedy was closer to what it was in his formative years ... and he was VERY funny then. Yeah, that will be some conversation Bill.

Saw GC live about 21 years ago with another couple. Most uncomfortable as he ceased to be the comedian we had paid to see and became just your typical nut-job standing in a cardboard box shouting obsecenities against the establishment. Apparently he knew it as well because as people walked out in dribs and drabs he railed at them as well for not caring enough to listen to his toxic spew. Any entertainer that cares so little for the people that pay his wage ... Well, the GC that the media has been loving on as of late died a quarter of a century ago, probably about the time of his first heart attack. - Vice Sgt Boone

Her shirt seems to offer an 'enter lude' of wellworn amusement....Dorkmeister on her left seems to concur......Agreement among alike feeble minds is a sight to behold, is it not?
