We are selfish, wasteful scoundrels, you and I

Thursday's Public Scold
Amanda Ripley reminds me of two things.
  1. The insufferable Ann Telnaes
  2. This party hostess - (I may have related this once before, about Telnaes)
My memory somewhat fails me, so I don't know whether this incident was told by Hunter Thompson in his (best) book, Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, or whether is was because of the book's success that it happened, and was related by Gonzo later.  Anyway, the Hell's Angels were in the process of trying to soften their image, and in the process found themselves the darlings of the Liberal Brie and Chablis circuit.  At one of these soirées,  the oh-so-sophisticated hostess was prattling on to Hells Angels leader Sonny Barger when he interrupted her.

"Know what you need lady?  You need someone to eat your p____. "

Barger told Gonzo that she later contacted him, wondering if they might get together and "talk."

All this has to do with Ripley's Time essay, 10 Things You Can Like About $4 Gas. Limbaugh went on a helluva rant over it yesterday, but my favorite piece of condescending pap from this  arrogant  twat is this, from #9.

" ... cops are being told to cut down on idling their cruisers — which is sort of like telling a teenager to stop using his cell phone."

Forget her Sonny.  Ann Telnaes prolly beat you to it. It didn't work.

I'll bet these leftists can't wait for this winter when out of control heating oil costs kill off a bunch of the elderly. That will clean out the Social Security rolls, eh wot?!
