I just
read this article, and I am suffering 3 disconnects in my brain; and
not about the invisibility. First, these are researchers at Berkeley
working on a military application. Second, the research is funded by
the military. Third, Xiang Zhang??? Chinese, I presume.

Like mary I'm often taken aback when the words "military research," and "Cal Berkeley" are uttered together. Xiang Zhang (JFC, are there any Occidental scientists?)
being head researcher of the project does seem to fit, however.
Maybe it's not
so much a military application they're working on, as a dream
