Baby, it's cold outside - Pycrete

"Our tests soon confirmed Mark and Hohenstein's results. Blocks of ice containing as little as four percent wood pulp were weight for weight as strong as concrete; in honor of the originator of the project, we called this reinforced ice "pykrete". When we fired a rifle bullet into an upright block of pure ice two feet square and one foot thick, the block shattered; in pykrete the bullet made a little crater and was embedded without doing any damage. My stock rose, but no one would tell me what pykrete was needed for, except that it was for Project Habakkuk." Wiki

Yet another amazing thing that I have heretofore never heard of.  First thing that pops in me brain is to build a huge Pycrete island somewhere in the arctic (people do live in the arctic, right?).  The advantage would be that this island would be an independent nation, ruled by me.  Which means there would by very few rules.  One would be that anyone trying to tax anything, or ban musical chairs, would be thrown off the island. Literally.

I will be making me some Pycrete, and will publish my experiments with it.  One will be to make a slab of it to keep in the freezer so that during power outages nothing thaws.    Stay tuned.

Smooooooching

It's Scientific

In addition to making us feel good, several studies indicate that kissing can actually help keep us in good health. Swapping mouth bacteria boosts our immune system, the extra saliva produced when you kiss washes out dangerous bacteria, and the raised heartbeat causes blood vessels to dilate, thus lowering blood pressure. The Vaginal O

            Techno Thrills
                              TODAY'S BIG DRUDGE HEADLINE

For years, women have often declared they can either orgasm through sex or foreplay.
But new research suggests we may all have been wrong.

For there is no such thing as a vaginal orgasm, a clitoral orgasm or even a G-spot, new research claims.

[Full Scientific Report!]

BUT WAIT!  WHO CARES?
The vaginal orgasm does exist for men!
Yes, it's pretty straight forward for men.  No gangling apparatus to worry about, just a single piston.  Plus, it runs on damned near anything, and takes, on average, just 5 seconds to bring a satisfying result, as this MRI video of the male orgasm shows.  (Developed by the Barn Army Dept. of Rest and Recreation)

Making Coffee

Gary Larsen

                                                                     SCIENCE

About 1960 maybe earlier, Coffee brewers institute offered classes in coffee brewing. Upon completion of instruction, we were awarded a 1/2 gold colored coffee cup and hung it over the entrance to the bar. Tap water should be fit to drink.

Never boiled or perked. (Video seems to contradict) 210 degrees. No more. Fresh coffee in a can or bag is near unattainable unless you find fresh roasted beans & grind 'em yourself. To test, take a pinch of coffee and roll it between thumb and forefinger. You should feel the oil. Second test, place a hot cup of coffee across the table and you can see a thin film of oil on the surface.

I just tested the tick marks on my coffee maker's reservoir, and they are exactly set at ¾ cup of water per cup of coffee.  So, since we have the best coffee maker on the planet Earth (1300 watts), it stands to reason that we have the best cup of coffee made with Walmart coffee on planet Earth  USA UAS USA

Men and Women are Different

Gary Larsen

      SCIENCE
The hardwired difference between male and female brains could explain why men are 'better at everything'

The researchers believe the physical differences between the two sexes in the way the brain is hardwired could play an important role in understanding why men are in general better at spatial tasks involving muscle control while women are better at  tasks involving beds and kitchens.

Psychological testing has consistently indicated a significant difference between the sexes in the ability to perform various mental tasks, with men outperforming women in almost all tests and women outperforming men in none that do not involve a vulva. Now there seems to be a physical explanation, scientists said.

The test also finds that men are adept at compartmentalizing stuff they don't like and making up their own version. [Full Truth]

Danielle gets old and shrivels

The Aging Process

I attempted to create a person in order to emulate the aging process. The idea was that something is happening but you can't see it but you can feel it, like aging itself.

Had Danielle been given a nice dose of estrogen along the way, she might not have died a spinster.  I'm just sayin'

Res Ipsa Loquitor

In 1946, when Hopper was released from active duty, she joined the Harvard Faculty at the Computation Laboratory where she continued her work on the Mark II and Mark III. Operators traced an error in the Mark II to a moth trapped in a relay, coining the term bug. This bug was carefully removed and taped to the log book. Stemming from the first bug, today we call errors or glitch's [sic] in a program a bug. (wiki)

Waiter- This Coffee tastes like Obama!

SCIENCE
Gary Larsen

Why does coffee never taste as good as it smells?
For many, the scent of freshly brewed coffee is the first highlight of the day. Now, scientists claim to have solved the mystery of why it never tastes as good as it smells.

Res Ipsa Loquitor

One sense is when you inhale things from the environment into you, and the other is when the air comes out of you up the nasal passage and is breathed out through the nose.”

The phenomenon is down to the fact that, although we have sensors on our tongue, eighty per cent of what we think of as taste actually reaches us through smell receptors in our nose.

The receptors, which relay messages to our brain, react to odours differently depending on which direction they are moving in. [Full blah-blah]

My coffee tastes like it smells.  I think.  Nothing I ever questioned  anyway.  So why did I post this article?  That should be obvious.

The Gosh Particle

TECHNO CHILLS

You "Know Nothing!”

While the significance of [Hoggs Boson] cannot be overstated or clearly explained, there remain a number of currently theoretical particles that are maybe not as important as HigBo, but are still very fundamental to our understanding of how the universe works and how research grants are distributed. [full article]

The very short significance of finding the God Particle is that every single thing you thought you knew about the universe is wrong.  Man-caused climate-change excepted, of course.

As an aside, and a quite appropriate one; the Gosh Particle may explain how the wretched people we call Liberals were able to portal their way into our existence, and offer the key to booting than back to hell.
