Excuse me if I see the prospect of a little backward engineering in Sarah P. Herlihy's uh .. bowel movement, I'll call it.- AMENDING THE NATURAL BORN CITIZEN REQUIREMENT: GLOBALIZATION AS THE IMPETUS AND THE OBSTACLE.  “ The natural born citizen requirement in Article II of the United States Constitution has been called the “stupidest provision” in the Constitution,1 “undecidedly un-American,” “blatantly discriminatory,” and the “Constitution’s worst provision.” How timely, eh?   Sarah being a Chicago lawyerette is of course mere coincidence.   She puts into practical terms the prospects this heinous proscription is costing the nation as we speak. .... the natural born citizen provision is controversial because it prevents over 12.8 million Americans from being eligible for the presidency.  In addition to Governor Schwarzenegger, the natural born citizen clause prohibits many other prominent Americans from becoming president, including Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Henry Kissinger, Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Senator Barack Obama, and over 700 Medal of Honor Winners. ” No  Schwarzenegger?  No Albright?  No Granholm.  Thank you Founding Fathers, thank you!  Just kidding.  That law has been rendered moot. Or, will be in a fortnight.
