Tankers

Hint: It wasn't any of the below ...

The Washington Post (with it's magazine Newsweek) and CBS (with the New York Times)  make this list of most off-the-mark (in-the -tank) polls twice each.  Newsweek's final had it 53-41 for Obama.  The best : Rasmussen and Pew, which were spot-on.
16. NBC/WSJ (11/1-2)
17. ABC/Post (10/30-11/2)
18. Marist College (11/3)
19. CBS (10/31-11/2)
20. Gallup (10/31-11/2)
21. Reuters/ C-SPAN/ Zogby (10/31-11/3)
22. CBS/Times (10/25-29)
23. Newsweek (10/22-23)
The POLLSTER finds a pattern.
One pattern that seems to have become particularly evident this week is that the polls showing the biggest leads for Obama tend to be those that are polling the cell phone only population (such as Pew, CBS/New York Times, and ABC/Washington Post).
Just a wild guess, but what segment of the population are
  1. Always reachable by cell phone
  2. Will always answer unknown callers
Answer: Teen-age girls and coke dealers.  There you have it.
