UK Idiotry

Guess why parents in Britain cannot take photos of their children at school sporting events.

A good guess would be that this would make the unphotographed children feel bad and in the Nanny State, no child can feel bad about anything at any time — thus making them totally useless as adults.

Good guess — but incorrect answer.

No, this time it is simply an over-zealous interpretation of anti-child pornography laws.

“Mrs. Ethelston’s Church of England Primary School, in Uplyme, Devon, prohibited photos and video filming, claiming it was due to changes in child protection and images legislation,” the London Telegraph reported. [Full nonsense]
In the meanwhile, the good citizens of Berkeley, CA are busily indoctrinating their babies into the pornographic ideology that is communism.- ZOMBLOG

...?! When I think about all of the surveillance cameras they employ over there… Ugh, the cognitive dissonance makes my head hurt.

There's no dissonance there.

It's for your own good!

How simple is that?

I think a lot more about all the cameras here.

BBC News on Friday reported a school has banned the egg & spoon race as the poor likkle kiddywinks could fall and cut themselves on that nasty wasty eggshell!
But at least it will be caught on camera for evidence at the ensuing claim hearing.
On a more personal note, my wife and I were told by the school deputy head (Principle) that we could no longer bring our teaching assistant neighbour home in our car and that she must take the bus. The reasoning be hind this was the danger that we may discuss confidential matters pertaining to the children in her class. When I pointed out that the bus driver also had a child in her class as did most of the taxi drivers in our village, the irony was lost on her.
3 weeks later, while waiting for bus to deliver kids from an overrunning school trip, the same deputy head delivered a litany of gossip and slander concerning most of the pupils and parents in her class.
I then reminded her of out recent discussions and miraculously neighbour transportation was suddenly no longer and issue!
