Wasn't it your predecessor King Louis XIV who ordered clocks be made with the IIII, which he preferred.

Those are Romanian numerals.
In the dark days of classical Eastern Europe, labor was very cheap, so making a four-hash "IIII" cost the same as making a three-hash "VI" did in Rome.
(I'm not 100% sure of that, though.)
