Notice that CINO's think of their religion as a democracy.
They disregard the fact that in this case, the power does not flow up from the people, as it would in a democracy. It flows DOWN, from God.
If you want leadership that changes policy willy-nilly, based on what the people have seen on TV, look to government. If you want consistent leadership with long-standing principles, try religion.
Only some religions, Anonymous. Catholics, Orthodox and others have been fairly consistent in the key principles. Others, such as the Church of England, seem to act like weather vanes, pointing wherever the winds are blowing today.
Silence, in this case, is not agreement. I wish the Holy Father would make clear how this should be addressed.
A Catholic guy goes into the confessional box. He notices on one side a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. On the other wall is a dazzling array of the finest Cuban cigars. Then the priest comes in.
"Father, forgive me, for it's been a very long time since I've been to confession, but I must first admit that the confessional box is much more inviting these days."
The priest replies "Get out. You're on my side."

Catholics always loved socialism, were anti-american, anti-israel and anti-capitalism (that protestant thing, Belloc:Reformation “was the rising of the rich against the poor”).
At least that's true in Europe.
I am a lifelong Catholic, thoroughly patriotic, thoroughly anti-abortion (it has never been something that is optional for Catholics) and think those dizzy dunces who are chastising the clearly right-thinking bishops who condemned the honorary degree for baby-killer Hussein Obama should have their mouths ducttaped shut in perpetuity! The great thing about being a Catholic is that the rules are the rules and there is no wiggle room - you know where you stand always. If you are honest. Those Catholics claiming there IS wiggle room are not really good Catholics.
Huzzahs to you Gayle. (But what was that no meat on Friday deal?)
Catholic clergy believe that, because they live in a socialst environment, we should do so.
They completely ignore the fact that socialism and communism CREATE (and not alleviate) poverty.
But that's nothing compared to voting for a genocidal pro-abortion candidate.
For that, they will have to answer to someone greater than us.
