A penny for your floor

A Copper floor for 2.56/sq ft

While this is obviously not my original idea, the picture did set me to wondering what a copper floor made from pennies would cost. At ¾" diameter, it will take 256 to make a sq.ft, or $2.56.*  Even less if the pennies are positioned, as in the picture, with several CHs distance betwixt.  I think the best way to apply them would be to make a square foot form, and pack it with pennies over a square of paper.  Dust with grout and water.  When dried you'll have a sq.ft. sheet of pennies.  By way of comparison, marble tile like this will run you $9.49/Sq. Ft.  May also be used for kitchen counters, desktops, even roofs.

You're welcome.

several CHs distance

A most excellent unit of measure. RCH should be used for finer detail.

Don't use pre-1982 pennies, they are all copper and worth much more than 1c. About 1.3c last time I checked. Stick with the later ones that are only worth 1c because the gov says so, much like paper money.
