A critical moment for any spontaneously successful movement is the formation of a governing structure.  Red  State's  Erick Erickson says the upcoming Tea Party convention " looks scammy," and I agree. My first thought: GOP hardliners are involved. My second thought: Merde  merde merde !

My first thought was: a ticket to that convention is really expensive. Are they trying to shut out the hoi polloi?

My second thought was: we still have the internet. That's the real home of the tea party. No tickets to buy, nobody controlling the agenda. This is a popular uprising. If allowed to set like concrete, it becomes hidebound and stagnates. It loses its power. It becomes something historians talk about: "the Tea Party movement, which reached its peak in 2009..."

As long as the tea party remains at the grass roots, it retains its power. It is egalitarian and unencumbered by a leadership structure.

All real tea partiers will boycott this sham convention. Keep attending local rallies, though. This is far from over.

Just read Dave's colonscopy journal. Great fun! Experience recommends you start the MoviPrep the morning prior as opposed to evening. ONCE prepped, an imbibe or so has been earned, but may not be medically recommended.
