Just to clarify:
According to the Census bureau website, the actual census form is a simple, one page form with about ten questions, most of which strike me as being directly related to verifying enumeration. Only the questions about race and sex seem off target, and frankly, I don't much care.
There is a separate form, the American Community Survey, which is much longer and more complex, sent out to a small fraction of respondents. What's more, it goes out every year, not just in decennial census years.
Be sure to clarify this when ranting about the Census to friends and family, or when they get the short form, they'll regard you as a raving loon. -

The little single page info sheet that came with mine said that they can't release any census info to law enforcement, the IRS, etc.... by federal law.
So, if they try to cite you, the only evidence of the "crime" is inadmissable in court.
And they can bite me. Here's my census info....

You have the right to remain silent and compliant.
If you waive your rights, anything you say or do and anything you don't say or don't do will still be used against you.
You have a right to an attorney and to have him present while you complete the questions.
If you can't afford an attorney, the court really doesn't care.
