Fisherwoman

Voila!

Boned Jello

This is my two-year old granddaughter catching her first fish.  The one-year old wasn't quite up to handling the pole yet.  And yes, she did cast, and reel that baby in.  Caught two more.

Did grandfather give her any help in describing the fishes size?

The Platonic form of cuteness, right there.

Notice how the photographer enhances the size of the fish by choosing a smaller model to display it, ah yes King Rodger you have a way of making us all appreciate the good left on earth when so much is already in ruins.
Love it!!!

Hee hee! What a cutie! I'll bet she has Grampa wrapped around her little finger and she doesn't even know it - mostly.

Watching them is better than anything on television, and unlike your own kids - their parents - they're free!

Is that the oil slick you can see right behind her on the water?

Try to imagine the thrill of catching a fish that is almost half as big, lengthwise, as you are.
My grampy would take 3 of us [11 sibs, take your pick] out in the wooden boat, and even let us handle the tiller of the 2.5hp Elgin now and again. Fished with bamboo poles using bobbers. You had to watch to gettum. Perch, blugill, sunfish, croppy, all in the bucket to be cleaned and batter fried for dinner. Over half a century ago. Ouch. Garnee would make 'drop moleasses cookies' [wish for the recipe] that sure hit the spot. Hunger was a big thing as a kid, come to think of it.

Aw, betcha when that baby's around, the curmudgeon and skeptic part of grandpa is nowhere to be found.

Merrily, that part of me only surfaces when I ponder just how in hell we lost our country to a bunch of uneducated (schooled, maybe) pissants. Babies, Boobs and Bourbon set me free. Oh, and your sweet voice. :)
