When pondering civil war history, I have always looked to the perspective of Sheryl Crow. That must be why I like this program. Looking forward to having Rosie O'Donnel tell me about what it was like to have broke brush in Nam.

I had hopes for a History Channel HD presentation of America: The Story of US.
Don't bother. The first episode and I think the 2nd as well droned on and on about slaves, underground railroad, Frederick Douglas, for two f%&%*&ing hours, but the worst part was not the content, but the commentary.
Are you ready for it?
Not historians, not actors reading a knowledgeable narrative, but Michael Douglas, Al Sharpton, and Skippy Gates of "beer summit" infamy, giving their 'learned' and 'unbiased' opinions; e.g., "I feel...", I think..." etc. I switched off and came back several times, and there, on and on, were always Douglas, Sharpton or a slave market scene with children being torn from mothers' arms, but no Founders, no Constitution or Declaration, none of the sacrifice of the Revolution. Enough to make me barf.
Another presentation "Apocalypse" another look at WW2, is very well done, featuring many, many film clips I've never seen before, with an interesting narrative. Down side is that 'President' Martin Sheen is the narrator. His delivery and voice are OK, but he is so fu*&^king liberal ignorant/arrogant that he pronounces all French names ending with lin,lon,len,lan identically as a nasalized son, then tops himself pronouncing the river Meuse as 'muse'. Arghhhhhh. But he can pontificate on solving world problems though. Arrgghhhh.
I hate Liberals and their blind, know-it-all arrogance.

The only Hitler Channel stuff that seems to be on target is stuff produced years ago. The older Vietnam war series lambaste Walter Cronkite for turning Tet, one of the great military victories in our history, into defeat. Newer shows twist Vietnam like Howard Zinn would. It also drives me nuts to see the SCIENCE CHANNEL, especially the Science Channel for crisake, push AGW like it was real. I read history, I've read history, and I love history. We, all of us, know what it means when a society starts changing it to fit a new political paradigm. Dammit Dick, now I have to open a new bottle of Jack.
