Run, BM, run!
having Bill Maher criticize your intelligence is like being lectured by John Edwards on ethics and character. IOW STFU

Bill Maher is like a eunuch at a gang bang.

With Palin, you get Reagan …
Well no. Sadly. With Palin you get an honest, forthright, clear-thinking, reasonable person. In this age of affirmative action presidency, that would be plenty.
However, anyone invoking Reagan should read Reagan In His Own Hand to understand why he does not work as a contemporary metaphor or simile. On top of the humility and other Protestant virtues, he was an uncomplicated, unflinching, unheralded genius. More like a saint or force of nature—depending on your religion—than a mortal man.
We will know God is smiling upon us if we ever see the equal of Reagan again.
It was 200 years between Washington and Reagan. If we last that long, maybe it'll happen.

I can picture Sarah, Greta, and Roger sitting around and discussing how they are going to mess over the reporters trying to follow her around and increase the ratings for Fox. Even some on the left are starting to figure it out and are saying the reporters should stop trying to following he around and giving Fox what it wants.
I'm still giggling over the rocket she loaded into the launcher on the Friday Hanity show. In effect if the GOP leadership doesn't start listening to the concerns of the freshman Republicans she would consider backing a third party. She mentioned how the Whigs disintegrated and gave birth to the Republican party. I bet that put a trickle down some RINOs leg.
I think we've had enough politicians. They've failed miserably with their posturing and hollow words. While Maher wants to blame the American people for their ignorance, the ignorance is only his perception. Taxpayers are smart, determined and tired of the bullshit that he, and the rest of the media, create to feed their egos.
I'm comfortable with a President Palin. She's not polished, but then again, that's now what determines good leadership. In the end, it's who can manage the best decisions and stand without worry of what the media, and polls, may fabricate.

Not sure about some RINOs, Toad my old buddy, but sure as taxes put a tingle down mine.
For dang sure we could do worse than Sarah.

...and anybody can get a job as a media jackass in this dumb f**ing country.
However, as Rodge points out, Obama has pretty much proved Maher right. Well, if you don't differentiate between gettin' the job an' doin' the job.
I'm old, poor, and somewhat brain damaged. I'm perfectly suited to be a Federal representative or senator.
I need two terms as senator or three as a rep, and by including "inspired" stock picks I'd be set for life. Nobody actually holds you accountable for anything hardly. I'm not married so as long as I use protection I'd have a much better sex life than I do now. I figure I'd show up more often for votes. I'd either read a book or watch movies on my laptop during sessions. After I finished my terms I'd hang around the capital and lobby for pin money.
The only thing that would be better would be servings in the Japanese Diet. They seem to be getting Gieshas these days.
Doug - I think Obama has done exactly what he was sent to do.
Obama had a vision.... but he had to hide it when someone saw those Christmas ornaments on the WH tree with Mao's face on them....
