Well the GOP has hung in there longer than I thought they would.
And perhaps they have found a set of balls and are using them.
Ozero is certainly not happy that the GOP hasn't rolled over and played dead and thats also good news.
Keep calling Boehner office and telling them not to increase the debt limit and shove CCB down Reid throat.
It certainly will be interesting to see how this all plays out. -

TurboTim, our boy wonder Treasury Secretary, apparently has said the U.S. government will run out of money on August 10 (per the Puffington Host this fine, warm Sunday am).
Why? You know the answer already. U.S. government workers cannot find their own backsides, even if they use both hands. This applies to TurboTim and the rest of the drones in the Treasury responsible for estimating this stuff. -

Erm, Steve, it's SATURDAY in the rest of the country. Could explain the lack of a crowd at 8:30 Mass.
Anyway, Geithner and Dear Leader are betting the house the (R)'s will cave. For once the Stupid Party seems to be getting the message that if they do cave, none of them will be able to get elected to the PTA, let alone their cushy $180K jobs with terrific bennies.

The greatest fear in DC is that if the government does shut down the people might notice nothing at all change in their lives and start to wonder why they are paying nearly half of their income for it.

Gotta ask... if there IS a shutdown, does the pay of Congrefs get held up also? I mean, they don't even work a 20 hour work week as it is...
Learnin' about boilers on DD756, I was on 8-on, 8-off rotation for a couple weeks. I could not handle it so well... and that was a LOT more than 20 hours a week.
Anyone here remember the military pay raise that Nixon blocked back in 72-73? Talk about kicking someone when they're down. E-1's were making a pittance, and they[along with all the rest] were hoisted on Congress mast to make a point. Talk about 'on the backs of the poor', !many! E-4 and below would qualify for food stamps back then.
