scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
Texas Governor Rick Perry and two top state regulators on Thursday
blasted the U.S. environmental agency for including Texas in a rule to
slash sulfur dioxide emissions from power plants, warning that the
last-minute action could threaten the state's electric supply.
”
The
inherent danger of regulatory agencies is they are subject to
manipulation
by ideology. The EPA was fathered by Richard Nixon, but
the mother was an ecofreak bitch. It is then particularly
vulnerable to
the arbitrary creation and application of "rules."
“
Texas
was not included in the EPA's draft rule related to sulfur dioxide cuts
because EPA modeling had shown little downwind impact from Texas power
plants on other states.
On Thursday, however, the EPA said Texas would be required to meet
lower SO2 limits to avoid allowing the state to increase emissions.
Obama vowed to shut down the coal industry, so there you have
it. In
doing so he satisfies the democrat's eco-freak constituency while
allowing himself to seize control of America's economy, and thus our
freedom, by fiat. This then is Obama's attempt to occupy the
Rhineland; and this is Rick Perry's chance to play Neville
Chamberlain, and do it
the right way.

It's Perry's chance to be Winston Churchill, and, again, do the right thing, damn the torpedoes full speed ahead. RAK
Ah, all those tree of protection that the left cut down so they could eliminate their political enemies won't be there for their protection in 2013. They have set the precedents. All those industries they trashed, all those unemployed, and even the dead will have their interest served, and they should not be surprised if those interests require payback in forms of permanency.
There's tens of thousands of pipelines that run to other parts of the country. I'm for closing any that end up providing electricity in Washington D.C.
Let them swelter in the summer heat and may the stench of their unwashed bodies give them nausea.
I can picture Texas just sayin' "No. Come turn our plants off. We'll be waiting." Are the EPA personnel going to go borrow stuff from BAT or ICE or another alphabet stew? I don't think so. They'll wave very strict papers at Texans, drawn up by the very legal-est of minds... Maybe even file a lawsuit. So. Just ignore them, and they'll go away. Once they realize you are not going to fall to your knees and genuflect, they'll look for easier dupes to bamboozle. tomw
