A reunion of sorts

Arnold is clearly the bad guy here, but California law doesn't, as far as I know, consider nice when it comes to community property.  So why is it unclear whether he's due half of her fortune?  At least Schwarzenegger worked for his money.

I'd guess the Kennedy estate is in a trust and the trustees pay each Kennedy an allowance, so while they may have an income, the Kennedy's aren't "wealthy". Prolly the best Ahnold can get is a hunk of her income, which may be nothing by the time a bunch of lawyers for the trust filter and hide it under "deferred child care credits for traveling to Maylasia", a "rowboat surcharge" and "tax deferments underpaid in Morocco in 1968".

In California, community property, generally property that results from one's earnings during the marraige, is split evenly when a couple gets divorced. Property owned before marraige and that received by gift or inheritance during marraige is separate property of one spouse, and is not divided at divorse. It is clear whether Arnold will get any of his wife's fortune. He won't.

Arnold the Schwartz (<-- racist, yeah yeah) should take his $200 mil and bankroll the next Ishtar. I mean really blow it. Then once the divorce settlement comes in, he can easily make that back just by making a coupla more movies. He still has star power.
