I'm thinking there was a time for all of the political hoopla before the internet. Now, information is easily accessible and current, so the constant repeat of political points is pointless.
Candidates begin to look like really bad game show contestents by the time of the primaries.
I'm leaning towards job qualifications and trust. Can they handle the nuts and bolts of the job and can they be trusted to not go to the dark side? - 9/24/11, 8:50 AM

You're right Jess. Now what are those "qualifications"?

P.S. More importantly at the moment, can Maryland beat the spread against Temple today? It's 8.5 at the moment. - 9/24/11, 9:40 AM

Leadership is most important. I know that sounds a hokey, but my experience tells me that most people like to follow. It's safer and less work.
Bosses make mistakes, but good bosses learn from their mistakes and continue by making better decisions.
I like Perry. I don't like everything he's done in Texas, and I don't care much for helping educate children of illegal aliens. If the pond scum politicians of the past had handled the problem the point would be moot, but he does have a point. Due to the laws, as interpreted, they're ours. We might as well do everything we can to make sure they don't become LCSMF liberals, which brings up another important point:
I want to know what the candidate will do to really dismantle the Department of Education. It's got to go. - 9/24/11, 10:00 AM

Excellent synopsis. I'd take almost anybody who was NOT on the dais. For example, Bret Baier or Megyn Kelley or Chris Wallace or Sarah Palin or Chris Christie

Brett is a nice guy. Megyn is a cut-throat bitch. Chris is a commie in drag. Palin, I'd vote for her, but I doubt she has the stuff. The fat man from Jersey? Nah. I liked Perry until he launched his campaign, so far he has been less than underwhelming. He could overcome that, but he may lack fire in the belly.
A campaign is a war, and has to be prosecuted as such. Organizational skills are more important than ideas. Once you throw out Ron Paul, the kook, there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the rest of them. So, the right candidate is a good general with a crackerjack Chief of Staff.
Now, what about Maryland?

Maryland losing 21-0 to Temple in the first period? I've seen this show before; it was called "The Ron Venderlinden Era." Ralph Friedgen must be laughing schadenfreude out of his ass.

You know, when I saw Edsell bitch out the DB for taking the ball in for the score against Miami at the end of the game. I thought, that man is a fucking idiot. The jury has a verdict.
