God bless my brethren of hard working, flag loving, largely uncomplaining but fed up, bonafide REAL Americans.
This isn't mine, it came via my Twitter imeline:

I am out of a day job & only freelancing for over 1 1/2 years now, & was underemployed for a year before that. I am trying to save my home, but will likely lose it. THAT IS LIFE!
I will move into something me & my wife & son can afford & deal with it. I will also find a job, but until I do I will be on the phone EVERY day making freelance jobs happen to try & keep the bills at bay. I am the 53% and I don't QUIT! I Double down & hit it from another angle until I MAKE SOMETHING OF MYSELF. FUCK THE 99% Kiss MY ASS!
Having said that I would ask that if anybody needs Graphic Design, give me a shot. www.galacticgraphic.com
Thanks,

Michael - good luck on your search.
Me - long story, doesn't bear re-telling. Short version, I moved to Md after I lost everything in Ca (once again making a strong case that I am *not* a salesman). Taught at a low-paying, high stress school (I can't tell you it's name, but it's initials are ITT). Got fired for an ill-considered beer, and am living w/ a friend in Pa. I'm now a Road Scholar, i.e., an adjunct instructor at colleges in Maryland and Pa. I'm 61, and not optimistic about a decent full-time job (in IT), but I keep looking. And paying my taxes.
Been reading Gerard, and all I can say is "Screw the castrati!!
I don't know if it'll help mperkins37, but I gave you an ad on the top bar. That attitude you will be successful. It's Why We Win.
My response to the whiney-ass 99%ers:
Well, lessee . . . my mother threw my father in jail when I was less than a year old, and my grandparents raised me ‘til I was 12 when my mother married a drunk -- not an alcoholic, just a guy who liked to drink and gamble and screw around.
After doing the high-school thing like 99% of the rest of my generation raised in the 40s and 50s, I set some goals for myself . . . not astronomical, but not necessarily automatically achievable goals, either.
Like 99% of the rest of the people in those days, I somehow managed to get my shit together after a typical period of hell raising, drinking, screwing around, and acting really macho and downright stupid.
And like 99.9% of my generation, I inherited exactly zero and never won any lotteries or sweepstakes before I reached age eligibility for retirement, Social Security, and Medicare, all of which I freakin PAID FOR!!!!!
Today I owe nobody a penny other than recurrent utility and insurance bills. Paid off the house and car LONG ago. In fact, I stuck money in the bank when I could and for the past 30 years have paid cash for all my cars to avoid interest payments.
Along the way I raised 4 kids, acquired a master’s degree, and have enough assets to be able to throw Franklins at my grandchildren when they need it or when I feel like it.
Again . . . I started with nothing but a decent high-school education, the result of going to school regularly and paying attention in class and asking questions when I didn’t understand something but saying “Sir” and “Ma’am” when thanking those who gave me the answers I needed.
Do I think most big corporate executives make too much money? Sure I do. But they pay most of the taxes in this country, too, which make possible the support and defense of your right to speak what’s on your mind no matter how egotistical, boneheaded, ignorant, and seditious it might be.
Those huge salaries, those 8-figure bonuses the CEOs and COOs get for running big banks and big companies aren’t packed into their coffins when they shuffle off their mortal coils. SOMEbody gets that money, and it gets back into circulation, and it gets used, and it gets taxed.
When your cerebral cortex finally achieves maturity and you can understand such things, you’ll finally realize that Wall Street is not and never has been the problem. Runaway growth of government and stifling regulations are the problem, and that’s MUCH more progressive than conservative. In fact, the basic thesis of the TEA Party is reduction of government and easing of restrictions on businesses.
Is there anything wrong with this country? Oh, hell yes! Are there better countries you could live in with better conditions, better health care, better tax rates, better security, better entertainment, better freedom?
Donno. But I bet 99% of the travel agents in this country would be thrilled to help you relocate to one when you find it
MSNBC would call them all racists since they are all white.
^^Right, 'cause MSNBC is such a diverse network.
