Nuthin' wrong with a Glock as a gun, 'cept they're sooo danged ugly.
It's not even mean-ugly (which could be useful in a situation);
it's just, you know, Euro-ugly.
Nobody fondles their Glock, puts it up to their ear and listens to the levers and springs work, or smiles when they pick it up, reassemble it, or put it away. -

I second the XD(M). I love mine.
Glocks explode. put enough rounds through them like police do, or put some hot loads in them they will grenade on you. The problem is that the barrel is scalloped at the bottom to help in loading of the round. When the round is properly seated the bottom rear doesn't have any metal around the brass. This is what causes fatigue along the barrel. If you look, there are even pictures where the brass blew out in the unsupported part.
