Dysfunctional Libtards and the Minimum Wage

Sigh.  I get letters

Res Ipsa Loquitur

I get this kind of letter (E-mail) at least three times a week.

Dear so-called Real King of France and Sweden.  I seethe every time you insinuate that Liberals/Democrats have some kind of chromosomal or DNA defect that prohibits us from understanding economics or national defense, and that we should be prohibited, in the national interest, from working, or being involved in any way, in those areas and disciplines. That, sir, is libelous, inflammatory, and unfounded lying lies hate speech. You make me vomit. Put up or shut up you dickless mutant.

With no regards,

Ulrike Meinhof

Ulrike, Ulrike, Ulrike.  I  do not insinuate these things Ms. Meinhof.  I say them quite pointedly, and always with examples. Hold on while I Google "Stupid Democrats think raising the minimum wage will spark the economy."    Hang on .....

That didn't take long.

A killer ‘stimulus’
Minimum-wage madness

In his budget address on Tuesday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie proposed cutting income taxes to make the state more competitive in the race for jobs and investment. But even as Christie struggles to improve the business environment, Democrats and some Republicans in Trenton are working to undermine it with a proposal to boost the state’s minimum hourly wage to $8.50 from $7.25 and then index future increases to inflation.

Their proposal, rapidly gaining steam, mirrors one that Democrats in Albany are pushing Gov. Cuomo to endorse.

Supporters tout the move — which would give Jersey one of the highest minimum wages in the country — as “stimulus.” Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver even said that raising the minimum wage would give lower-income families thousands more dollars to spend. What she failed to mention is that it would do so at the cost of perhaps tens of thousands of jobs.

Not to throw cold water on your hopes and aspirations Ulrike, but have you considered a nice job in retails sales?  Or gardening?

You're welcome.

Ulrike was, shall we say, a bit ahead of her time. She'd have fit in nicely in the "Occupy" crowd. If you are tolerant of subtitles (which I am) or understand German (which I don't), "The Baader Meinhoff Complex" is worth spending two hours on (and it's on Netflix). Should be required viewing in high schools....but it would not jive with the prevailing attitude there.

Doc Surg - did you hang up the shingle and move to a retirement village in AZ?

Nah, just working harder. With Obamacare on the horizon, that retirement village looks awfully enticing, though.

Rodge,

Ulrike Meinhof already has a career in gardening. She's pushing up the daisies.
