Just got a call from the county emergency people warning to expect wide-spread power outages of a long duration. That pretty much means I'm living on borrowed time, blog wise. BGE depends on volunteers from Texas too clean up their messes anymore. Got an order in for full house generator, but it happening anytime soon. |

Picked up a 4KW propane generator from Arundel Gas and Water Conditioning down RTE 2 in Edgewater just north of RTE 214 (Central Ave.) yesterday. $457.00 with two full 20lb tanks.
Just get anything, and after your whole house unit is installed at the next power outage post a sign saying:
Generator for Sale
Cash Auction

Wouldn't that be profiteering? Or as non dimocraps call it a'smart move'?

We moved into this electrically heated house in 2005. A neighbor said he'd been here 17 years and never lost power for more than minutes. The power was out at Thanksgiving for 4 days taking the computer and modem with it. So much for surge protectors. Then we lost power for 3 days over Christmas with 2 feet of snow on the ground. We installed a standby generator and auto transfer switch that following summer. It works great, we haven't lost power for more than minutes since then.

It's only profiteering if you have a licensed storefront. One is just a garage sale.
Lived on the CT coast for 25 years. Power never off for more than a few hours, a handful of times. This doesn't look that bad. The news people live on scaring the crap out of you so you'll keep tuning in and hang on their every word.
Once again, if you're getting it for free, YOU are the product. - 10/27/12, 6:25 PM
