When You’re Falsely Accused of a Gun Crime – 12 Things You Need to Know

Res Ipsa Loquitor
Gratuitous & Unrealated Photo

Read on for 12 lessons that Michelle Gesse has learned in the Criminal Justice School of Hard Knocks. Having this information beforehand might make a huge difference if you or a loved one is ever falsely accused of a crime.
Later that night the Gesses were shocked when law enforcement officers arrived at their home in the middle of the night to arrest Steven and search their home. As it turned out, Michelle reports, the son of the offended guest had falsely accused Steven of threatening him with a gun.

Over the next seven months, she would watch helplessly as her innocent husband was treated by the justice system as a criminal whose guilt was already assumed.

Wow. Great post. Part of the ccw course we took dealt with how to handle a shooting aftermath. But. Being blindsided??? We've been stock piling food. Now, we need to plan for this? wtf Constitution.

Keep your friends close, your enemies closer? Nope. Keep everyone at a distance.

Let the counter suit begin! A call from the local prosecutor &/or Sheriff to a certain Navy SEAL's commander is in order.
Bad move going over to the neighbor's house...

Never talk to the police. Nothing you tell them can help you and anything you say can be turned against you. You do not need to request a lawyer to remain silent.

The State is not your friend. Cops are employees of the State and therefore also not your friends.

There is a great YouTube video named "Don't Talk To Police" (6/21/08) in which Prof. James Duane of Regent Univ School of Law explains why the easiest question a defense atty can get from a client is "should I talk to the police?" A 28 year veteran detective follows Duane and confirms.

I'm guessing we're supposed to believe the SEAL made all this shit up?

Naw, Righty. Mr. Gesse probably said something innocuous over the dinner table like "our affirmative action president is a traitor, a homosexual, a drug abuser, an illegal alien and the stupidest person in just about any gathering that doesn't include his hideous "wife" or the VP."

You wouldn't believe it, but there are some people who take offense at a comment like that.

"Naw, Righty. Mr. Gesse probably said something innocuous"

We don't know Mr. Gesse but we have a fair idea of what kind of man it takes to become a SEAL. Which one has the better odds of being a filthy liar given what we know? That's all I meant.
