At West Point, the War on Men Continues

Fucking "ring knockers" all worthless as hell. The white table cloth crowd rides the shoulders of the Gunnys and the Chiefs. "Ski trip to Canada? War is heck for the upper crust, no? These are the people that forget to provide food for their men engaged in combat. In the Corps we had a term for a man that came from nothing and rose above the 99.9% of enlisted men to become an officer. We called him a "Mustang" officer. THATS the guy you follow, keep the hell away from the rich frat boy. Unless you are fighting guys with wooden paddles and beer bongs.-Ooh Rah - Anymouse

Cromartie should thank them for the lesson on institutional hypocrisy, and the Stalinism of feminism.
Anymouse was a pogue.

I kinda agree with RetRsvMike just a bit though. I do have to say that the higher up they get the more dangerous they become - and a great deal depends on the individual.
The CEO I work with is a ring knocker former Col, and I have yet to be too impressed by him. On the other hand, when I was a young intel trooper in AK, I had a section head that was one, but also a former tank commander and was really not quite right in the head (as I learned later were all tank guys). Couple that with the NCO in charge of the unit being a former snake eater, and you have a recipe for too damn much fun - but I trusted both of them implicitly. Ah, the life of a REMF cold warrior! - 7/31/13, 6:25 AM

I would bet a small sum that most appointees to West Point are not from wealthy families or elitist backgrounds. Frankly I think it's with the men out of the military academies that someday will hang the fate of our constitutional republic. I don't see any other way. God help them.

.....All while NY Senator Kirsten Gilibrand is "rewriting" the UCMJ to remove the prosecution of "sex crimes" from the Chain of Command. Where it has been handled for more than two hundred years.
I wonder what her office has to say about this case, in her own backyard?

I'm a '94 graduate of West Point and iri is correct, most West Pointers are from middle-class backgrounds. That being said, I didn't appreciably better junior officers than those from other commissioning sources (ROTC/OCS) - everybody brings something unique to the table. I wouldn't trust ANY general officer as far as I could throw them.

Admittance is most definitely not about ability. It is about "Ilk". Wouldn't want to offend the skippers wife at the ball now would we?

You'd better hope you're wrong about that. Aside from the sexual and racial set-asides of course. - 8/1/13, 9:45 AM

Based on six years in the FMF, 3 of which were in ANGLICO. I am most certainly not wrong. The Hackworths, the Pullers, will never be seen in the same company as the McCains. Real officers lead by their presence, they don't need a big ring, and don't hide behind an emblem on their shirt. They are also damn rare. I can't imagine the future with split tails and gays leading fighting men. And yes, I know I'm now "wrong". Wasn't back then.

That's disturbing to say the least. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised given the nature of the leadership in high academia these days and the cultural cesspool from where we draw our candidates for greatness. One would have hoped the military schools at least were still training boys to become men. Now I'm really depressed.

So anon, that's quite a fucking breadth of experience you have there with West Point grads, based on all that time in the Marines. You fucking idiot. You evidently don't even realize that your own officers were commissioned from a completely different Academy than the one in the article.
...and may I say again, bite me, dickwad.
