Also don't try to remove slide on springfield XD40 with a magazine. Makes a nice hole in the china cabinet. I may never be forgiven. Probably shouldn't be. I forgot cardinal rule, maybe several.

Yep,
if you're gonna ignore the basic rules for gun-handling,
then move on to the basic rules for shooting …
starting with wearing ear protection all the time.
