This is raw vindictiveness by Holder, because Arizona had the temerity to attempt to uphold federal immigration law. Once again I am reminded of The Second Civil War, which had Idaho's governor secede from the Union in the face of Pakistani refugees being dumped into his state. Before long, several other states joined Idaho, and it was game on. By the by, this was broadcast during the Clinton years, so bear that in mind—should you ever watch it. Large portions of the HBO media audience were not pleased with this Made-4-TV at all; and it had a short run. I don't think HBO ever did reruns.

PS- It seems to me that any state would have a constitutional right to refuse these illegals, and certainly a Tree of Liberty mandate to do so. But, what do I know?

Start with volunteers. Then send those in custody.

Send a million illegally present foreign nationals to Washington, District of Columbia.

After they can’t get to the White House, the buses can let them off at Congress, The Supreme Court, The Capitol Mall, The Smithsonian, The Cathedral, Georgetown University, Washington University, the suburbs, the Mexican Embassy.

edit – All illegally P F N can have their sentences reduced by the cost of the transport to DC by the governor’s commutation power. Release the prisoners free in Washington DC. Federalism is a wonderful thing. The Federal government wants to make the unified countrywide decisions, then let them have the problem on federal territory.

Clean it all up to have a constitutional basis and clear legal backing and the governors and sheriffs and jailers are good to go.
Fair is fair. Send them. Send them on.
They need to be deported as this is just another reward for being illegally present foreign nationals (making US policy also at the behest of their national governments)
