Dang eye sweats. Got 16 years out of my last Shepherd. Carried her up and down the stairs twice a day for the last two years. Wasn't nothing left of her but she seemed to be happy until the end. The man up stairs gave her exactly 365 days to train our new pup. Sure miss her - Anymouse

Liesel - 9 years
Etta - 10 years
Zelda - 10 1/2 years

GSDs are the greatest.
I miss my doggies every day.

"German Shepard Talks About It's
Last Few Days Of Life On Planet Earth" [sic]

Did the dog write this? Otherwise there's no excuse. How long do you have to have one of these dogs to learn the correct spelling of the breed's name?

Corrected version: "German Shepherd Talks About Its Last Few Days of Life on Planet Earth"

I've had 3 GSDs and 2 Shiloh Shepherds (1 still with me; "Paladin", 10 yrs. old and going strong). How do I feel about GSDs? My CB handle is "Rin Tin Tin"!

We had Missy, our Beagle-mix(Basset?), for 15 years next May. She was about 5 when we got her from a rescue.
She could no longer see, and had a very hard time doing steps. She didn't want to go on her 3PM walk formerly demanded daily, no matter if it was the weekend.
She'd be coaxed to the end of the drive, about 150 yards, and not want to go any further.
I felt as if she'd been betrayed by her Mom when we took her to the vets office. She still had to investigate that whole grassy area in the parking lot.
I'd say her last day was at least not her worst. She had a 15 year reprieve from the 'Animal Control' people, and got to eat a whole tin of catfood the night before.
Hope to see her again.
