You realize, of course, that there are those who would call this blasphemy.

'Interesting that you should quote Gingrich, because several of my acquaintances who are "in the know" predict that Gingrich will be the VP nominee.
This could lead to an interesting (and effective) reversal of the traditional President and VP roles (and a reversal that I proposed for a Trump/Cruz ticket), wherein it will be the VP who implements policy and the President who is the hatchet man (a role for which Trump is eminently suited), socking it to the "nattering nabobs of negativism" (although Trump's skewering of the opposition will be far less creative than, e.g., Agnew's). - 5/30/16, 9:13 AM

HMmmm, interesting, and possibly brilliant choice. Would give Trump exceptional help in negotiating congress. OF course, my fav pick is the lady from Alaska. PS .. I!m doing comments from iPad, a Deviice I can scarce see, and does not accomodate my manly finger.

Raja, "the lady from Alaska" would've been one of my first choices also. In fact, in a perfect world, she'd be running along with Ted Nugent. I also would have loved to see Col. Allen West in the running. But only Trump has the power to bring voters out of the woodwork, people who have never voted Republican and may have never even voted.
